Kieran qualified as a solicitor in 2000. He was latterly a partner in one of Ireland’s leading law firms. He advises on all areas of commercial litigation, insolvency and corporate recovery but has particular expertise in commercial disputes such as breach of contract, warranties and company shareholder disputes. In recent years he has acted for as number of leading banks on enforcement of security actions and has defended such actions on behalf of borrowers.
He has 15 years’ experience acting for plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury actions and has a thorough understanding of insurance law having advised a number of Ireland’s leading insurers, their agents and brokers on claims, policy disputes and the regulations governing the industry.
Kieran also advises on employment law and has acted for both employers and employees in this regard. In addition he advises on health & safety law and has acted for a number of local authorities and companies in the private sector in health & safety investigations in recent years.
He has acted for clients in the Mahon Tribunal where he advised on both attendance at that Tribunal and the substantive matters investigated by it. He has also acted as legal adviser to the judicial function of one of Ireland’s leading accountancy bodies and has advised it on areas of administrative law and issues of natural justice during the disciplinary hearings.
He is very familiar and a supporter of mediation and arbitration as well as other types of alternative dispute resolution procedures and understands that knowledge of these areas is essential to providing quality legal advice. He prides himself on knowing each client’s needs and how they operate which allows him to work closely with them to achieve their goals.
