William qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and previously headed up the Private Client Department of one of Dublin’s leading law firms which he left to join MacCarthy Johnston in 2016.
William specialises in advising private clients in matters surrounding Wills, Probate Trusts and Estates, EPOA’s, Family Partnerships and the purchasing and selling of both residential and commercial properties.
William also advises landlords and tenants on issues concerning commercial and residential leases involving the drafting, negotiating and settlement of same. He also advises lenders and borrowers on facility arrangements and the putting in place of security pursuant to such arrangements.
On the private client side, William advises individuals and families on appropriate trust structures for estate planning and asset protection purposes and he advises executors, trustees and beneficiaries on all legal issues arising in Wills and the administration of estates and trusts. William also advises on will challenges and will disputes under the provisions of the Succession Act.
William also has experience on issues surrounding charity law and advises on capacity issues including enduring powers of attorney and ward of court applications.
He has advised on numerous administration of estates involving cross jurisdictional issues and assets.
William is a member of the DSBA and holds a Diploma in Property Tax and a Diploma in Trusts and Estate Planning.
